00:00:00 what’s up guys Sawyer here with Utah air guns today we’re going to do a quick overview on the difference between pellets and slugs so pellets are much easier to tune they go slower so you don’t have to put as much effort into the tune for hunting their best use is on small game because they are going slower they’re not going to over penetrate if you’re shooting in a barn you’re not going to risk uh collateral damage and because they are going slower you are using less air so you’ll get a lot more shots per fill with pellets and

00:00:29 as far as competition goes they are most commonly used in benchrest. Slugs are going faster so that means you can shoot bigger game with them you can shoot larger rodents foxes coyotes stuff like that and also because they’re going faster they’re much better at distance shooting or long range you can stretch them a lot farther than pellets but because they’re going faster you are going to consume more air so you either need to have a bigger air source or just be ready to fill up a little bit more

00:00:58 often and they also require a little bit more fine tuning that is why they are available in different diameters per caliber so you need to pick the right diameter and do a little bit of tuning to get the best accuracy out of your slug shooting air rifle and the most common competition use for Slugs is PRS so guys that is the difference between pellets and slugs I hope that helped out
