The Applied Ballistics bullet library with custom drag models provides an exact measurement of your bullet's drag profile for the most accurate ballistic solutions available at any range. Bluetooth LiNK connectivity pairs the meter wirelessly with your smartphone via the Kestrel LiNK Ballistics app — loading your gun and ammunition profiles directly into the meter for seamless, real-time ballistic solutions in the field. Store up to 30 gun profiles, access over 225 long-range bullet BCs, and select G1, G7, or custom drag curves for the most precise trajectory calculations available in a handheld device. The improved high-resolution screen is readable in any lighting condition including direct sunlight, and both Red NV and White backlights are included for day and night use.

Applied Ballistics vs. Horus — What's the Difference?

The Applied Ballistics version offers G1, G7, and custom drag profile support, Drop Scale Factor truing, bullet length input for spin drift calculation, +/- angle input, Crosswind Jump correction, and automatic environmental adjustment when moving between drastically different conditions. The Horus version supports G1 only and custom curves require manual user input. For serious long-range shooting, Applied Ballistics is the clear choice.

Do You Need Bluetooth?

Most data can be entered manually — but custom drag curves beyond the 7 preloaded profiles require the LiNK app or USB cable to download. Bluetooth is also required to connect with compatible rangefinders and scopes, and all meter firmware updates are delivered via the LiNK app. For full functionality, the LiNK version is strongly recommended.
